I have always loved drawing, painting and textile work. Until
recently my hobbies of running classes in embroidery, silk
painting etc., while drawing and painting in the evenings and at
weekends, had to be fitted around work commitments.
When I was given the opportunity to retire early I saw the
chance to pursue my lifetime dream by turning my hobbies into
something more.
I moved away from town life to settle on the East Coast. I also
fulfilled a long-time promise to myself by enrolling on a two year
National Diploma in Art and Design course. I have just completed
this, gaining a triple distinction, as well as gaining an AS Level
in Printmaking.
I hope to continue now by building up a portfolio, hopefully
exhibiting from time to time, whilst taking on commissions of work
from others. I hope now to have the time to put some of my work on
the website with a "For Sale" marker on it as well as displaying
completed commissions. These items will include textile work as
well as paintings.
